2025 Luncheon
Gifting Free Books to Ohio’s Children
The third First Lady’s Luncheon was hosted by Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine with special guest country music legend Zac Brown.
The 2025 First Lady’s Luncheon supported Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio, a statewide nonprofit that mails a free monthly book to children between birth and age five.
Zac Brown discussed his own philanthropic endeavors, and highlighted his personal connection to Dolly Parton, including his newly released song “Butterfly” featuring Dolly Parton.
At the luncheon, First Lady DeWine announced a new statewide initiative designed to enroll more Ohio children immediately after birth in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. Ohio is the first state in the nation to now include enrollment information about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Ohio’s birth certificate paperwork process. By enrolling at birth, newborns will receive the complete collection of free books the program has to offer before turning five years old.
Brown not only provided entertainment at the luncheon, but also offered his support for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio by donating a signed guitar, which was put up for auction.
Sponsors of the 2025 First Lady’s Luncheon
Many generous sponsors attended the 2025 First Lady’s Luncheon benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. Proceeds from the event cover the cost of mailing books to children in Ohio, ensuring the program remains available, and at no cost, to every child between birth to five years old.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio mails over 410,000 books every month, each costing $2.60. The statewide nonprofit, along with a local nonprofit in every county, fundraises to cover the cost of mailing these books.
